【前 言】

　　“生存還是毀滅”，這不僅僅是莎士比亞筆下哈姆雷特王子才會有的遭遇，也是普羅大眾會真實面對的問題。人生因太多的機緣巧合，最終塑造成了現在的“我”。在2500多年前的佛陀看來，“我”本并不存在，均為因緣和合而成。但每個人的“因緣”卻如此的不同，以至于作為靈長類動物的人類，越來越自信于人世間小概率事件的他者性，即發生于他人身上的“偶然意外”與“我”無緣。

　　當然，這只是一廂情愿的自信，在這自信親歷或耳聞“偶然意外”慢慢被瓦解掉之后，人性深處的悲憫心最終在被生活裹挾的嚴嚴實實的圍墻后面開出蓮花來。這時“偶然意外”不再被解讀為“偶然”，而是“必然”的一部分，甚至是最關鍵的部分。

　　藝術家的任何一次創作，其實均源自“偶然”：偶然的心境，偶然的環境變化，偶然的社會事件，……諸如此類。但之所以能變成一次創作結果的“偶然”，均因早已存在的內在“必然”。但這種非常容易被他者誤解的“偶然”，反饋到藝術家內心時很容易使它們切斷與內心中“必然”的聯系。就像一個硬幣的兩面，它們本是一體的，但由于人們的認知局限與傲慢，往往陷入到對詞匯刻板的認知從而排斥事物本身的兩面性。

　　“偶然”的必然性及“必然”的偶然性，從哲學層面來說只是辯證唯物論的一種思辨，但在生活中卻是實踐的必然路徑，即便主觀意識排斥這樣的兩面性也無法擺脫。我們在下意識里把“偶然”理解為“非正常”甚至“意外”時，往往忽略了“人生不如意事常八九”這一哲學中預示的“必然”性。盡管我們似乎已經慢慢開始適應這種“偶然”，但認識其中的“必然”性并從中發現“趨利避害”的路徑并非投機取巧，恰恰是人類為改善自身進入良性循環的必然。

　　此次展覽以“偶然與必然”為題，不為探究深層次的哲學話題，但究竟起來從藝術創作到人生起伏，無不在這兩個看似對立卻無法割裂的話題下面來回探究，其努力的意義往往比結果來得更真實。參加本次展覽的二十多位國際藝術家們，正是透過以自畫像為主要形式的藝術作品來展示他們對此主題的思考。

　　"To be, or not to be" is not only what Shakespeare wrote about Prince Hamlet, but also a real problem for humankind. Due to too many coincidences in life, it has finally been shaped into the "me" that I am now. As the Buddha said more than 2,500 years ago, "I" did not exist at all, but was formed by karma. But each person's "karma" is so different that humans are more and more confident in the otherness of small-probability events in the world, that is, "accidents" always been happened to others not myself,but it's not ture.

　　Of course, this is just wishful self-confidence. After this self-confidence is slowly disintegrated after experiencing or hearing about "accidental accidents", the compassion in the depths of human nature finally blooms behind the solid wall wrapped in life. At this moment, "accidental accident" is no longer interpreted as "accidental", but a part of "inevitability", even the most critical part.

　　Any creation of the artist is actually derived from "accidental": accidental condition of mind, accidental environmental changes, accidental social events, etc. But the "accidental" that can become a creative result is all due to the inherent "inevitability" that already exists. But this kind of "accident" which is very easy to be misunderstood by others, when it feeds back to the artists, it is easy for them to cut off the connection with the "inevitable" in their heart. Just like two sides of a coin, they are originally one, but due to people's cognitive limitations and arrogance, they often fall into the stereotyped cognition of vocabulary and reject the two sides of things themselves.

　　The inevitability of "contingency" and the contingency of "inevitability" are only a kind of speculation of dialectical materialism from a philosophical level, but they are the inevitable path of practice in the reality of life. When we subconsciously understand "accidental" as "abnormal" or even "accidental", we often ignore the "inevitability" predicted in the philosophy of "unhappy things in life are often eighty-nine". Although we seem to have gradually begun to adapt to this kind of "accidental", it is not opportunistic to recognize the "inevitability" in it and discover the path of "seeking advantages and avoiding disadvantages".

　　The exhibition is titled "Accidental and Inevitable". Although it is not intended to explore deep-seated philosophical topics, in the end, from artistic creation to the ups and downs of life, there is a back and forth between these two seemingly opposite but inseparable ways. The meaning of the effort is more real than the result. More than 20 artists's reflections on the subject are shown through their artworks, mainly self-portraits.

　　1967年生于哈爾濱市，自由攝影人。2017年，《相約春天里》芒碭山小鎮攝影季個展；2016年，阮義忠攝影人文獎十五位入選者，同年十五位入選者作品在全國多地巡展；2008年至2014年是北京紅T畫廊簽約藝術家，2015年至2018年簽約紅門畫廊，作品由以上兩家畫廊代理；2015年，美國圣路易斯城市學院，當代藝術畫廊聯展《拆建:變化中的中國1980S——2010S》；2008年至20016年連續九年攝影個展；2011年，連州國際攝影展，《路徑》攝影個展；同年，哈爾濱理工大學美術館《超現實主義攝影展》個展；2011年，云南大理國際攝影節，個展；2012年，山東省日照市常芳藝術展，攝影作品展；2005年，獲得2005年亞洲世界男籃錦標賽新聞攝影藝術類攝影一等獎。現工作生活于中國哈爾濱。

蔣貞蕾(美)

　　蔣貞蕾出生于湖南永州，2001年碩士畢業于北京師范大學。在芝加哥生活和工作，因大膽的混合繪畫和雕塑的創作方法而備受贊譽。個展包括在伊利諾伊州立大學芝加哥分校，英國倫敦沃爾特畫廊，紐約456畫廊，等。她參加了許多群展，包括在韓國 CICA 藝術博物館、英國皇家雕塑家協會，美國周氏兄弟藝術中心、香港天趣女性藝術基金會《她力量》等。蔣貞蕾是2021年美國 “上下文” 邁阿密藝術博覽會和2022年洛杉磯國際藝術博覽會的參展藝術家。她經常與著名的前衛音樂家合作，他們也收藏她的作品。

　　Zelene Jiang was born in Yongzhou, Hunan, and graduated from Beijing Normal University with a master's degree in 2001.Lives and works in Chicago and is acclaimed for his bold approach to mixing painting and sculpture. Solo exhibitions include at Illinois State University at Chicago, Walter Gallery, London, UK, 456 Gallery, New York, etc. She has participated in many group exhibitions, including "She Power" at the CICA Art Museum in Korea, the Royal Society of Sculptors in the United Kingdom, the Zhou Brothers Art Center in the United States, and the Tianqu Women's Art Foundation in Hong Kong. 　　藝術家，1976年出生于中國黑龍江省依蘭縣，2008年于天津美術學院研究生畢業。她運用行為、繪畫、影像等多種媒介進行藝術創作， 用文字、圖像，裝置，現場等探討記憶，夢境，潛在意識，作品涉及性別，身份，生態等議題。作品曾在瑞典世界文化博物館、德國女性博物館等世界重要的美術館展出；參加加拿大多倫多國際雙年展，布拉格中歐國際藝術雙年展等。她的作品被瑞典東方博物館，泰達當代藝術博物館收藏以及被英國，德國，瑞士，新加坡等國的收藏家收藏。她還曾受到聯合國婦女屬的表彰。學術文章發表在《國家美術》，《東方藝術大家》等藝術專業刊物上。她曾策劃“異在的身體”女性主義藝術展；2017年尤倫斯UCCA策劃“行為藝術與后現代劇場”展演；2018年策劃“地圖與疆域”國際藝術展。2019年在德國大使館策劃“在中國”德國藝術展等。

　　符號學研究者，中國當代女子畫會理事及江西省美術協會會員。1960年代生人，祖籍南京，現居南昌。其早年從事文學與聲音藝術創作，在國內獲獎近20個；近10年開始紙本重彩水墨藝術創作，并逐漸轉向綜合材料及裝置藝術創作。自2017年起，其平面水墨作品《荷?結》、《絲?結》、《女神》等，裝置作品《木衛2的想象》及《痛001#：女性可以說痛》等，開始出現在北京、上海、南京、南昌及美國紐約等地的多類美術展覽中。其中，表達女性主義觀點的裝置作品《痛001#：女性可以說痛》參加了2021年8月在上海舉辦的“飛路Flyway中英精神健康藝術展”。其有數幅作品被機構和私人收藏。

　　Born in 1960s, native to Nanjing, now lives in Nanchang. She is a semiotic researcher, a director of China contemporary women's Painting Association and a member of Jiangxi Art Association. In her early years, she was engaged in literary and sound art creation and won nearly 20 awards in China. In the past 10 years, she began to create paper heavy color ink art, and gradually turned to the creation of comprehensive materials and installation art. Since 2017, her graphic ink works "Lotus knot", "Silk knot" and "goddess", and installation works "imagination of Ganymede 2" and "pain 001#: women can say pain", had participated in various art exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Nanchang and New York. 　　1993年2月25生于中國成都，青年藝術家。擅長油畫為主的各類繪畫，十年美術教育經歷。2016年12月書籍作品《南京大屠殺》獲中國高校設計大賽書籍類作品一等獎；2016年12月，攝影作品《最美民大》獲成都市最美校園高校攝影比賽第一名；2016年11月，作品《秋》入選第六屆四川省青年美展；2015年12月，作品《霾》入選第五屆四川省青年美術作品展；2014年4月，作品《母親》在首屆四川省青年油畫作品展中榮獲四川青年油畫鼓勵獎。

His artistic investigations are centered on image as writing, on the poetics of archives, their montage and the erasure of limits between “document” and “fiction”. Benedito works on filmmaking, objects, installations and photography, without no hierarchies between media. In recent years, he collaborated with institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Goiás (MAC GO), the Circle of Plastic Arts of Coimbra (Portugal), The Room Projects (France), Art Space BLECH for Contemporary Art (Germany) and Czong Institute for Contemporary Art (South Korea).
